FAQ'S   1. Do you operate from the new route from Nathula Darra in Sikkim? What is cost ? How many days? NO! It is a proposed government route which is expected to start from 18th June 2015. We operate privately and via Kathmandu. Even though it is said it will take 10 days but our experts say it will take about 21 days even from the new route. The approximate cost would come around 200,000 Lac INR.  2. When is the best season to trek/travel to Kailash Mansarovar? For trekking to Kailash the best season is May to September. The weather is normally dry and sunny. Day temperature during the day in July and August is approx. 10°C and while parikrama it may dip to minus 5 degree. 3. What type of shape do I need to be in, for trekking in Nepal? Traveling to Kailash Mansarovar is suitable for average people who are moderately fit. But yes, you need to tone your body in terms of running, jogging, yoga, few breathing exercises (PRANAYAM) to get easily acclimatized in the journey. 4. Should I join with group for trek or tour? For Kailash Mansarovar trek or tour a group of minimum 17 pax is a must. You have to join the group and follow our fixed departure dates. As there are special permits to be taken from the Govt. of China and Tibet it becomes mandatory to travel in a group for easy processing of formalities and also to undertake the much needed safety measures required. 5. What are the different ways of traveling to Kailash? There are 3 ways to reach Mount Kailash from India. a) By road from India. This is a 28-30 day trek. It has to be booked well in advance and the number of seats is limited and participants are chosen by a draw by the Ministry of External Affairs, India. About 400-800  people qualify for this  yatra each year. - Operated by Govt of India. b) By road from Kathmandu and from there by road (Option of Luxury Bus or Land Cruisers) to Lake Manasarovar at the base of Mount Kailash. One may fly to Kathmandu from Delhi, Varanasi, Kolkata or Mumbai or other airports. This is the most popular route for doing Mount Kailash Yatra. Organised by BRAVEHEARTZ. c) By Helicopter from Kathmandu is a perfect choice which is for 9 days. This tour uses fixed wing aircraft for the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalganj and from there to Simikot. From Simikot a helicopter flies to Hilsa. Landcruisers are then used to reach Manasarovar- Organised by BRAVEHEARTZ. 13. What is the age limit and kind of fitness required? Anyone between age of 16 - 70 years is eligible. However it all depends on one’s physical fitness. For Kailash Yatra fitness is very important. Before planning to go for the yatra, take advise from your family physician/medical practitioner. Anyone suffering from acute asthma, diabetes, high B.P., cardiac ailments are advised not to undertake this journey. Healthy and fit people also need to prepare well in advance with brisk walking, breathing exercise or preferably yoga asanas and pranayama. As a matter of fact, for most people the Kailash Parikrama is an act of faith and belief. 14. How much walking is required on the Kailash Tour? There is no trek till Mansarovar Lake. You will need to trek during the parikrama of Mount Kailash if you are found physically fit. This is a 52-kms / 3 days trek done at an average altitude of 15000 ft to 19500 ft. However ponies are also available for the entire trek journey on additional cost. 15. What kind of food is served on the tour? The food is purely vegetarian, fresh, hygienic and cooked by trained crew members. Water collected from streams near the campsite is boiled and hence is safe for drinking. You can add iodine drops or chlorine tablets. 16. Are foreigners / PIO/OCI status eligible to undertake the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra? Yes, they can travel provided they are in a group of 10 and hold the same citizenship. 17. What is the difference between the Yatra conducted by the Government of India and that conducted by BRAVEHEARTZ? The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, conducted by the Government of India, has a specific surface route that starts and ends in New Delhi and takes about 27 days. The new route from Nathula Darra in Sikkim will take 21 days approx. It involves trekking at high altitudes of upto 19,500 feet, under inhospitable conditions, including extreme cold and rugged terrain, and may prove hazardous for those who are not physically fit and medically healthy. The yatra conducted by BRAVEHEARTZ is more planned and meticulously executed under trained mountaineers and leaders. The cost is 30 percent cheaper and is more enjoyable and knowledgeable. 18. Is there any subsidy given to Kailash Manasarovar pilgrims? There is no subsidy provided either by the Govt or us. However few states have started providing some subsidy which in totality still works out to be costlier than the cost provided by BRAVEHEARTZ. 19. What is the estimated expenditure per yatri? For Government Yatra it works out to be approx. INR 175,000. For BRAVEHEARTZ it starts from INR 125,000 by Road and INR 225,000 by Helicopter. 20. Is Mount Kailash Parikrama the only form of trekking involved in the Yatra? Or, is there any additional trekking involved during the entire Yatra? There is no additional trekking involved. 21. What happens if a yatri falls sick en-route? If a yatri suffers from minor ailments, there is qualified staff to handle such situation. The team has adequate oxygen cylinders, medicines and Gamov Bags to meet difficult conditions. However arrangement of evacuation is also there. 22. Should yatris carry the prescribed medicines, which they have been taking regularly on the advice of their doctors? Yes. Yatris are advised to take sufficient stock of their medicines to last the entire duration of the Yatra. They need to declare their health status in their booking form. 23. Which currency is required in Nepal and Tibet? In Nepal, Dollar and Rupee is valid. However in Tibet, exchange it for Yuan.

Tour Attractions   Pashupatinath Ji Temple: Pashupatinath Temple, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. This temple, regarded as the most sacred temple of Hindu Lord Shiva in the world, dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Mansarovar Lake: Lake Manasarovar (ManasSarovar) is a freshwater lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. To the west of it is Lake Rakshastal; to the north is Mount Kailash.According to the Hindu religion, the lake was first created in the mind of the Lord Brahma after which it manifested on Earth. It is the initial point of circumambulation of Mount Kailash. Known as Chorten Kang Ngyi which means two legged Stupa in Tibet. Asthapad: Asthapad is the bottom of Mt. Kailash and one of the main holy place for the Hindus and Buddhists. It is also considered a major Jain Tirth as the first of the 24 Jain Tirthankara “ShriAdinathBhagwan” had attained salvation (Nirvana) here. The literal meaning of Asthapad is “Eight Steps”. Siwasthal: Just around 2 hours walk from Deraphuk, situated on the way to Dolma – La pass is Siwasthal. Many pilgrims visit this place as it is known a duplication of the magical funeral ground at Bodh Gaya. Tarboche: Tarboche flagpole, is one of the most important aspect of Tibetan spirituality. On “Saga Dawa” Tarboche which is an impressive and capturing annual festival of Mt. Kailash this giant flagpole which has numerous prayer flags on it is brought down and replaced. Rakshas Taal: Also known as The Demon lake, offers a mind blowing experience of a ferocious water body.This lake is just 10 kilometers from Mansarovar lake, and in close proximity to Mount Kailash. In the Hindu and Buddhist spiritual beliefs, where Mansarovar represents the positive energy through it’s calm fresh waters, on the other hand, Rakshas Taal represents negative energy due to its ferociousness. But it is no less than a beauty. Rakshas Taal is also associated with King Ravana of Sri Lanka, probably as a representation of negativity. Dolma-la Pass: Drolma La is a high pass on the Kailash Kora that represents the most challenging and rewarding point of the circuit. The crossing over this pass represents a transition from the former life to a new one with all of the previous sins forgiven by the compassionate Goddess of Mercy, Drolma.   Every stone around the pass is considered to be permeated with the three qualities of the Buddha:  mind, speech, and body.  They also represent the Three Jewels: Buddha, dharma, and sangha.  In the middle of the pass is a large, cubic rock called Phawang Mebar.   ZutulPhuk: ZutulPhuk monastery is located on the right bank of the Zhong Chu river.  Some of the most venerated objects within the monastery are some stone relics with rangjung footprints on them that are said to belong to Gotshangpa, Karmapa, and Milarepa.  There is also a trident carved out of stone called Mile Changkha that is said to have belonged to Milarepa.   In the cave, the most important object is a Milarepa statue which was supposedly created by the sage himself before he died.
