FAQ'S   1. What is Inner Kora Trek of Mount Kailash? Mount Kailash has few places like Kuber Kund, Ashtapad, Saptarishi Cave, Nandi Parbat which is difficult to reach by people. It is achievable by hardcore trekkers and youth who has trekked till 15000 ft. 2. When is the best season for Inner Kora? Since it is difficult hence we operate only once in a year. This year in 2015 it is scheduled for 24th August. 3. Is acclimatization necessary? YES! Normally it is recommended that for Inner Kora one needs to trek Himalayan region of 15000 ft as a preparatory measure. You need to tone your body in terms of running, jogging, yoga, few breathing exercises (PRANAYAM)  to get easily acclimatized in the journey. 4. How many days does it take to complete the journey of Mount Kailash Inner Kora? Approx 18 days. 5. What is the age group for people who want to take this trip by helicopter? Is there any danger that occurs on tour or treks? The age can be from 21 - 55 years but key to successful completion is acclimatization with the weather condition. What happens if a yatri falls sick en route? If a yatri suffers from minor ailments, there are qualified staff to handle such situation. The team has adequate oxygen cylinders, medicines and Gamov Bags to meet difficult conditions. However arrangement of evacuation is also there. 16. Should yatris carry the prescribed medicines, which they have been taking regularly on  the advice of their doctors? Yes. Yatris are advised to take sufficient stock of their medicines to last the entire duration of the Yatra. They need to declare their health status in their booking form. 17. Tour Attractions   Pashupatinath Ji Temple: Pashupatinath Temple, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. This temple, regarded as the most sacred temple of Hindu Lord Shiva in the world, dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Mansarovar Lake: Lake Manasarovar (Manas Sarovar) is a fresh water lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. To the west of it is Lake Rakshas Tal; to the north is Mount Kailash.According to the Hindu religion, the lake was first created in the mind of the Lord Brahma after which it manifested on Earth. As per Hinduism, the Lake is a personification of purity, and one who drinks water from the lake is believed to be cleansed of all his sins to attain moksha. Pilgrims view the Lake to be sources of four of the greatest rivers of Asia, namely the Brahmaputra, Karnali, Indus and Sutlej.The lake has a few monasteries on its shores, the most notable one is the ancient Chiu Gompa Monastery. For the Buddhists, Kailash is the center point of the universe. For the Jains, Kailash is the Mount Ashtapada, a very holy place of pilgrimage. For the Bonpo followers, Kailash is the nine-faced swastika mountain and is constantly emanating great powers. For the Hindus, Kailash is the Sumeru Parvat, the throne of Lord Shiva and the spiritual center of the world around which all the earthly powers revolve. Tatopani: Tatopani is a village in central Nepal. Majority of people here are of ethnic Sherpa and Tamang. Historically and today, it is a huge trading post between Nepal and China. Darchen: Darchan is a small village, earlier known as Lhara and still sign posted as such. It was earlier an important sheep station for nomads and their flocks and had only two permanent buildings. It now houses Tibetan pilgrims. Darchen is situated right in front of the sacred mountain, Mount Kailash. It is the starting point for pilgrimages in the region. Traditionally, pilgrims are served only vegetarian food due to its proximity to the sacred Lake Manasarovar and Mount Kailash. Kuber Kund: Kuber Kund is a beautiful pond which has sedimentary rocks. On one part there is a small projection on the bank creating a cave like structure. From far, this pond appears like the cresent moon adorning Lord Shiva’s face. Ashtpad: Ashtpad is the bottom of Mt. Kailash and one of the main holy place for the Hindus and Buddhists. It is also considered a major Jain Tirth as the first of the 24 Jain Tirthankara “Shri Adinath Bhagwan” had attained salvation (Nirvana) here. The literal meaning of Asthapad is “Eight Steps”. Saptarishi Caves: Lying under the south face of Mt. Kailash, the extreme spot of the Nandi Inner Parikrama is the grand Saptrishi Cave, which is considered to be one of the most difficult treks during the inner Parikrama. Situated at the height of 6000 metres altitude, after leaving at malingam, one happens to face the almost vertical wall to be climbed for Saptrishi cave. It is also known as Serdung chuk sum. Here ‘Ser’ means golden; ‘dung’ means stupa (chorten, a Buddhist shrine), and ‘chuk sum’ means thirteen. Currently, however one can see more than thirteen chortens over there. All these chortens are well managed by Gengta Monastery located within the inner Parikrama region. There is a long horizontal crack in the cave that prevents the snow and rocks to fall on these chortens, and thereby it protects them from external damage. The cave’s walls inside are painted red as per Tibetan tradition. There are many religious books kept well-arranged over here inside the cave. From Saptrishi cave is seen the Nandi mountain. Saptrishi cave trek is one of the most challenging treks in the entire inner kora, and only seasoned mountaineers can reach there. Nandi Parbat: Nandi, considered as main conveyance of Mahadeva. Nandi Parbat stands just in front of Kailash Parbat at Southern side. Yam Dwar: Yam Dwar is situated in Tarboche, approximately 30 minutes drive from Darchen. It is the initial point of circumambulation of Mount Kailash. Known as Chorten Kang Ngyi which means two legged Stupa in Tibet. Tarboche: Tarboche flagpole, is one of the most important aspect of Tibetan spirituality. On “Saga Dawa” Tarboche which is an impressive and capturing annual festival of Mt. Kailash this giant flagpole which has numerous prayer flags on it is brought down and replaced. Zutul Phuk: Zutul Phuk monastery is located on the right bank of the Zhong Chu river.  Some of the most venerated objects within the monastery are some stone relics with rang jung footprints on them that are said to belong to Gotshangpa, Karmapa, and Milarepa. There is also a trident carved out of stone called Mile Changkha that is said to have belonged to Milarepa. In the cave, the most important object is a Milarepa statue which was supposedly created by the sage himself before he died.
